South Will Rise Again Pumpkin Crunch Cake

1 box yellow cake mix
1 15 ounce can pumpkin
1 12 ounce can evaporated milk
3 large eggs
1 ½ cups sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup butter (melted)
Whipped topping (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom of 9 by 13 inch pan with a light coat. Combine pumpkin, milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in bowl. Pour into greased pan. Sprinkle dry cake mix over pumpkin mixture, sprinkle with pecans and melted butter. Place into preheated oven and bake for approximately 50-60 minutes. Top with whipped topping.
