Pumpkin Pie Cake

1 (29 ounce) can pumpkin
1 (23 ounce) can evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 tablespoon cinnamon
¼ to ½ teaspoon salt
1 (2-layer) package yellow or spice cake mix
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
¾ cup melted margarine

Combine the pumpkin, evaporated milk, sugar, eggs, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl and mix well.  Pour into a 9 x 13 inch baking pan sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.  Sprinkle the cake mix and pecans over the top.  Drizzle with the margarine. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.  Cool completely on a wire rack.  Serve with whipped cream. Yield: 15 servings.
